The (Günter-) Grassmenu
Without cooking, there is no creativity
(for groups of 10 or more with advance reservation) Our small exhibition “Finds for Non-Readers” and our Grass menu “A Culinary Journey through the Works of Günter Grass”. in our cultural lounge aims to show Grass, the man, as we personally got to know him as a guest of our Literature Hotel from 1997 to 2015. A confessed epicure, Günter Grass once said of himself, “I love living”.
His passion for food and its preparation was a lifelong theme that he often incorporated into his novels, poems, drawings, and sculptures – for example, in the novel “The Flounder”. Experience and taste the menu as described by the Nobel laureate in his works.
Upon request, we offer a reading of the novel “The Flounder” for guests particularly interested in Grass, accompanied by selected text passages corresponding to each course of the menu.
The Grass menu consists of the following four courses:
Creamy wild mushroom soup
***
Steamed fillets of cod and salmon on a bed of vegetables, served with rice and dill sauce
***
Pork fillet skewer with mixed vegetables, fried potatoes, and sweet-sour sauce
***
Blueberry sorbet
As a precautionary measure, we would like to point out that dishes may change due to the current situation
