Discover Lübeck

Take a stroll through the many quaint crooked allies in the Old Town. Surrounded by water the Old Town is one of the most precious gems of the Northern European brickstone architecture. For the first time an entire Old Town in Northern Europe was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1987. Take a boattrip along the river Trave, and enjoy the fabulous architecture of medieval Lübeck from the water. Visit the world-famous Holsten Gate, the Buddenbrook House and the impressive Gothic churches. In the marvellous merchant houses the times of the Hanse can still be sensed. Finally stop by at the famous Café Niederegger and treat yourself to a delicious piece of marzipan cake. Real gems can also be found among the many museums in Lübeck’s historic Old Town: St. Anne’s museum and the Art Hall St. Anne, the museum Behnhaus/Drägerhaus, the Hospital of the Holy Spirit dating back to 1280 and the Museum of Theatre Puppets are also worth a visit.
